OPEN WATER DIVER
PREREQUISITES:Minimum 10 years of old, medically fit for diving
You will need to demonstrate the ability to:
Float or tread water without aids for 10 minutes
Swim 200 metres/yards with no aids or 300 metres/yards with mask, fins and snorkel
Total time commitment: 3 days in water / 1-2 days for eLearning
Depth:expect shallow dives (12m/40ft), the maximum allowed depth is 18m/60ft
Cost: $ 10, 500 MXN (10% discount for booking with buddies)

Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology (either offline or online), then learn basic scuba skills in a pool (or pool-like environment) with a highly trained PADI Instructor. When you’re ready, make four dives in an open water environment (the ocean, a lake) with your instructor supporting you every step of the way.
PADI eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Learn about scuba diving principles and terminology whenever, wherever it’s convenient for you.
It’s your course on your time. Study offline, or online using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor whenever you have a question.
- eLearning time commitment:5-10 hours
PADI training includes 5 practice “mini dives” to help you build confidence in your new abilities before making four dives in open water.
You will learn how to plan dives within the standards for the certification. Students will then practice buoyancy, propulsion and breathing techniques using scuba gear in a pool (or pool-like environment) until mastery is achieved. Safety drills are an integral part of the training, with much repetition of scenarios.
Your instructor will determine if you are ready to put your skills to practice in an open water environment. Four open water dives are conducted to a maximum depth of 18m / 60ft in either the ocean or a suitable cenote. On each dive you will have to demonstrate mastery of specific skills from the confined practice.
Students will have to show adequate ability to plan a dive and execute it safely in a buddy team.
ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER
Prerequisites:Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification), medically fit for diving, 12 years or older
Total time commitment:3-4 days
Depth:The maximum depth depends on your age, but maximum depth is up to 30 metres/100 feet
Learn about underwater navigation, deep diving and three types of specialty diving that interest you. After some skill practice with your instructor, you’ll make five open water dives. There’s no exam because this course is truly about having fun and gaining experience.
The course is priced at$120 USD, which covers your certification fees and basic eLearning materials. If you'd like to enhance your learning experience, there is an additional option of the interactive eLearning platform for an additional $80 USD.
Course Structure & Diving Locations:
You will complete 6 divesin total over the course of 3 days, which includes the 5 adventure dives and one additional fun dive.
You can choose 3 out of the options below to complete your 6 dives.
- Playa Reef Dives (Mama Vina Shipwreck optional) $120 USD
- Shark Dive + Reef: $175 USD
- 2 Dives in Cozumel: $185 USD
- Angelita & Carwash Cenote Dives: $195 USD
- 2 Dives in Casa Cenote: $145 USD
- 2 Dives in Puerto Morelos (Shipwreck + Reef): $185 USD.
The course can take place entirely on the Playa del Carmen Reef, or you can choose to upgrade to other locations for a more varied diving experience. Upgrades to places like Cozumel, cenotes, or Puerto Morelos allow you to dive in different ecosystems, broadening your diving experience and skill set.

- Knowledge Development
Advanced Open Water Diver eLearning includes interactive lessons on 13 popular specialty dives: altitude, boat, digital underwater imaging, drift, dry suit, fish ID, night, buoyancy, search and recovery, underwater naturalist and wreck diving.
You’ll study deep and navigation diving plus three specialties of your choosing.

The course includes 5 adventure dives, with the following structure:

These dives are required as part of your certification. In addition to the mandatory dives, you’ll have the opportunity to select 3 optional adventure dives from the course manual. Some exciting options include:

Adventure Dives Selection:
We encourage you to review the course manual and select the adventure dives that interest you the most. Some students love wreck diving, while others opt for the serenity of drift diving or the challenge of search & recovery.
Please keep in mind that night dives are harder to arrange, as they require a minimum of 5 divers to confirm the schedule. We will be in contact to discuss the dives and locations that would be most suitable and align with your interests.
ReActivate
Prerequisites: Junior Open Water Diver, 10 years old, medically fit to dive
Total time commitment: 2-6 hours
Depth: depending on dive add-ons
Cost: $1000mxn

ReActivate is the engaging, efficient way to refresh your scuba skills. Move quickly through topics you know well, dive deeper on topics where your knowledge may have lapsed.
Your PADI certification never expires; but if you haven’t been diving in a while, it’s better to be over-prepared than risk a problem because you forget something important. Dive shops also appreciate seeing a recent ReActivated date on your certification card.
- Knowledge Development
It’s easy to fit a scuba refresher course into your busy schedule. Using a computer or mobile device, watch videos of how to perform basic scuba skills and review dive planning and safety procedures – whenever, wherever it’s convenient for you.
Connect with your instructor for a water session, or whenever you have a question.
- eLearning time commitment: 2-3 hours
Complete a water session where you’ll practice setting up dive gear, make ascents and descents, and review any scuba skills you may have forgotten.
You will spend some time in confined water practicing skills and buoyancy techniques.
ADVENTURE DIVER
Prerequisites:
PADI (Junior) Open Diver or qualifying certification, 10 years old, medically fit to dive
Total time commitment: 8 hours
Depth: depends on age but 30m / 100ft max
Cost: $4100mxn
Complete three Adventure Dives (underwater photography, fish identification, etc.) and earn the Adventure Diver certification, a subgroup of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.
- Knowledge Development
You can choose what you’re most interested in learning. Need to work on your buoyancy skills? Try the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. Want to know what you’re looking at down there? Try the AWARE – Fish Identification or Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dives. You’ll plan your path with your instructor, go over what you need to know and dive in quickly.
Connect with your Instructor to register for PADI’s eLearning.The web-based system lets you learn about seven of the most popular Adventure Dives at your own pace through an easy to use, interactive program. You also have access to an online version of the Adventures in Divingmanual and can complete sections for other Adventure Dives as directed by your PADI Instructor.

EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER
Prerequisites:Desire to help others
Total time commitment:4-8 hours
Depth:This is a dry course

Emergency First Response primary and secondary care training teaches you what to do in the critical moments between when a life-threatening emergency occurs and when emergency medical services arrive.
Learn how to perform CPR, provide first aid that eases pain, assess a variety of injuries and illnesses and practice bandaging and splinting.

RESCUE DIVER
Prerequisites:
Junior Adventure Diver or qualifying certification, 12 years old, with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months

The Rescue Diver course will change the way you dive – in the best possible way. Learn to identify and fix minor issues before they become big problems, gain a lot of confidence and have serious fun along the way.
Learn how to think like a rescue diver through home study and skill practice with an instructor. You’ll practice basic rescue skills and then show you can effectively apply them in open water.

The manual and video have 9 sections with their own corresponding knowledge reviews. Complete all sections and take the a question, multiple choice exam.

MASTER SCUBA DIVER
Prerequisites:
Junior Rescue Diver or qualifying certification, 12 year old, minimum 50 logged dives
